EUREKA Takes Centre Stage at Boeing’s Airspace Digitalization Event in Brussels

On Wednesday, 10 December, Boeing will host the Airspace Digitalization event at its Brussels offices, placing the EUREKA Project at the core of a programme dedicated to Europe’s future airspace integration and digital transformation. The event brings together leading organisations from across the aviation and advanced air mobility ecosystem and will highlight how collaborative research is shaping the Digital European Sky.

A Programme Built Around EUREKA

The event opens with a welcome by Liam Benham, President, EU, NATO and Government Affairs Europe at Boeing, followed by introductory remarks from Eduardo Carrillo de Albornoz-Braojos, Managing Director for Boeing Technology Innovation in Europe and Brazil.

A central element of the agenda is the EUREKA project showcase, offering attendees an in-depth look at the project’s results, innovations, and contributions to future airspace operations. This session will explore how EUREKA’s research supports safe, efficient, and scalable integration of new air mobility services.

Panel: “Airspace Next”

A high-level panel will follow the showcase, connecting leaders across industry, research, and operations. The discussion, titled “Airspace Next”, will examine the evolution of airspace management, technological enablers, and the requirements for integrating emerging air mobility concepts into Europe’s complex airspace.

The panel features:

•Michael Hardt, Boeing Technology Innovation – Europe

•Karolin Schweiger, EUROCONTROL

•Alain Siebert, SESAR Joint Undertaking

•Erick Corona, Wisk

•Moderator: Munish Khurana, EUROCONTROL

Their combined perspectives will provide valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities ahead for digitalisation, interoperability, and future U-space and UAM operations.

Strengthening Cross-Sector Collaboration

The event concludes with a networking cocktail, offering space for open dialogue among policymakers, regulators, technology developers, operators, and research partners. This exchange aims to reinforce collaboration and accelerate Europe’s transition toward an integrated, sustainable, and digitally enabled airspace.

EUREKA’s Contribution to the Digital European Sky

By being at the centre of this event, EUREKA underscores its role as a key research initiative supporting Europe’s ambition for seamless, safe, and operationally efficient integration of new air mobility systems. The project continues to deliver knowledge, validated concepts, and operational insights that strengthen the broader SESAR and Digital European Sky ecosystem.
