Rome, Italy – 18 December 2025
The EUREKA consortium is pleased to announce its upcoming EUREKA Open Day,
taking place on 18 December 2025 at the Pianabella Vertiport located at Leonardo da
Vinci–Fiumicino Airport (Rome FCO). The event will provide stakeholders with an
exclusive preview of the project’s latest developments, including live demonstrations of
Solution 4: Vertiport Network Flow, Capacity and Operational Management.
Developed under the SESAR framework and co-funded by the European Union,
Solution 4 aims to optimise vertiport operations by enabling efficient arrival and
departure sequencing, improved network coordination and enhanced operational
responsiveness during high-density traffic scenarios.
The Open Day will bring together representatives from industry, airport operators,
technology providers, and institutional bodies to highlight the project’s progress and
demonstrate real-world validation activities.
Event Programme Highlights
The event will feature:
1. Institutional Opening Session with remarks, greetings, and an introduction to the
EUREKA project
2. Presentation of Solution 4 and its operational concept
3. Live UAS Flight Trials with real-time explanation
4. Networking Lunch with project partners and industry stakeholders
5. Technical Session including real-time simulations and operational debriefing
These demonstrations will offer attendees a firsthand look at how vertiport operations
can be safely and efficiently integrated into future urban air mobility environments.

The EUREKA consortium continues to work toward the development and validation of
innovative operational solutions that will support the deployment of U-space services
and vertiport management across Europe.
The Open Day marks a key milestone in showcasing the project’s achievements and
strengthening collaboration with the wider UAM community.
